Calendopaedia - Frequently Asked Questions

I am always pleased to receive comments, corrections and questions from people who have visited the Calendopaedia web site. However there are some questions that I get asked over and over again. This page is designed to answer those questions. Please read it through before you email me to see if your question is answered here.

I was born on 32nd of Jutember 1897 (or maybe it was some other date). Can you tell me what day of the week that was.
I do not attempt to provide that sort of data on this site as it is covered elsewhere on the Web. I suggest that you use the GENUKI Perpetual Calendar.

When was the calendar we normally use today first introduced?
You will find this on the Gregorian Calendar page.

I have designed a calendar that is more accurate than the Gregorian calendar. How do I get it adopted.
With great difficulty! Many people have tried to improve on the Gregorian Calendar, and most of these designs are more accurate, although usually also more complicated. On this web site I have details of the three most likely contenders (in my opinion) which are The International Calendar, The Positivist Calendar and The World Calendar. My personal opinion is that the Gregorian Calendar now has too much momentum to be replaced, and any way it will be approx 4800 AD before the Gregorian Calendar has slipped one whole day since it was adopted.

Can you sell me a calendar with pictures of ewoks on it? (or some other cute, photogenic subject)
I do not supply hardware! If you want to buy a paper calendar you will need to look elsewhere.
